Preston Richard handles patent applications in the field of electronics and communication technology, particularly hardware and software inventions related to wireless communication and entertainment devices. In addition to prosecuting patents at the European Patent Office, Preston Richard’s main areas of practice include working with a team of patent attorneys and attorneys-at-law on opposition and appeal proceedings at the EPO, nullity proceedings before the German Federal Patent Court and patent infringement proceedings before the relevant German civil courts. Preston Richard draws on his knowledge acquired through technical and legal training, combined with many years’ experience in intellectual property law. He is also a qualified Indian Patent Attorney and a qualified Indian Trademark and Design Attorney with experience in drafting patent claims relating to computer-implemented inventions during his employment at a renowned IP law firm in India. Preston Richard has also advised and represented multinational clients in IP litigation proceedings before the various Indian courts, including the Court of Appeal and High Court.
